The city of Prayagraj (still called Allahabad until 2018) is located in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh and has about one million inhabitants. Translated, the name of the city means something like “City of God”. The city is particularly important for followers of Hinduism as it is located at the confluence of the Yamuna and the Ganges, both sacred rivers in the Hindu faith.
But the city is also very popular among tourists as it looks back on a long and eventful history and many buildings from the past bear witness to this. Such as the Tomb of Kushros, the All Saints Cathedral or Muir College at the University of Allahabad.
