Udaipur has a national airport and in recent decades it has developed into a major tourist center. It is considered one of the most romantic cities in the province of Rajasthan.
Small artificially created lakes have a positive effect on the vegetation of the city. The City Palace is one of the most beautiful and oldest buildings in Udaipur. Maharaja’s Palace Complex
The Maharaja Palace Complex of Udaipur consists of eleven complexes and is the main attraction of the city. It is located right in the middle of the city. The palace complex of the Maharaja of Udaipur is the largest in the province of Rajasthan.
While the Maharaja’s family lived in the entire palace complex, today some parts are open to the general public as a museum and luxury hotel. A school and small shops can also be found here. The Maharaja’s family lives in their own complex, the private palace. It is decorated with a lot of marble, tiles, and colorful mosaics, as well as wall paintings. However, it is not open to the public.
Jagdish Temple
The Indian state of Rajasthan, which is particularly popular among travelers, is home to the former capital of the former kingdom of Mewar, we are talking about Udaipur. The city, which is located in the south of the state and has about 400,000 inhabitants, is particularly rich in history and culture. Many people come here, especially due to good flight connections to New Delhi and of course many impressive sights such as the City Palace and the Lake Palace Hotel at Lake Pichola. However, the main attraction of Udaipur is the Jagdish Temple or Shri Jagdish Temple.
This temple is dedicated to Jainism, a religion that emerged around the sixth century BC. The Jagdish Temple was built in 1651, it has an impressive pagoda 24 meters high and at the entrance, visitors are greeted by two impressive elephant statues. Lord Vishnu is an object of special reverence here; his mythical vehicle Garuda can be admired in a temple.
Jag Mandir
A magnificent palace that looks like a floating marble structure in the lake is a must visit when visiting the alluring Pichola Lake. Known as the Jagmandir or Jag Island Palace, this palace is situated on the southern shore of the lake and is located on the island of the same name known as Jag Island. Commonly known as the “Lake Garden Palace”, the Jagmandir Island is an impressive structure that is visited by a large number of tourists.
The Jagmandir was constructed from time to time by the three Maharanas of the Sisodia Rajputs of the Mewar kingdom. The construction of the Jag Mandir was started by Maharana Amar Singh in 1551 and was taken over by his son Maharana Karan Singh during the period of 1620 to 1628.
You can visit the Jag Mandir by taking a boat ride on Pichola Lake. It stands out and is considered by many travellers as the most beautiful and magnificent temple in the city.
Sahelion Ki Bari
