Detailed Itinerary

Ahmadabad to Balasinor: Upon arrival at Ahmadabad, check in to the hotel. Take some relaxation and in the afternoon depart for Raiyoli Dinosaur Fossil Excavation Site & Balasinor town walk, through the market place. Raiyoli is being developed as a Jurassic Park and has been the centre of attraction over a period of time. Once done, exploring the places, return to the resort/hotel and enjoy an overnight stay there.

Balasinor to Chhota Udepur: Early morning after breakfast depart for Chhota Udepur via Champaner – the place has been known for its historic semblance that it presents over a period of time and was inscribed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 2004. Upon arrival at Champaner, check in to the hotel and after some recreation visit tribal area surrounded by local forests, mountains and rivers. Here you can find Rathwas, Bhils, Kolis and Naiks among the tribal groups. Farming remains as one of the prime occupation for the tribes, while the Rathwas have created an art form called the Pithora paintings, which are normally created using the special vegetable dyes. In the evening, after the day's activities, visit the hotel in Champaner, and enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.

Ratanmahal Sloth Bear Sanctuary

Chhota Udepur: Early morning after breakfast, depart for Chhota Udepur via Ratan Mahal Sloth Bear Sanctuary; spread at an area of over 56 sq km. Ratan Mahal is the only exclusive sloth bear sanctuary in Gujarat that has been a centre of attraction for people across the world. Apart, from sloth bears, the place also provides a glimpse of scenic beauty including the rivers and green forests. One can also find panthers, hyenas, large-size monkeys, jackals, honey badgers, antelopes and reptiles, apart from the sloth bears. Also, huge varieties of birds can also be spotted in the area. Chhota Udepur to Saputara: Early morning after breakfast, proceed for Saputara and upon arrival, check-in to the hotel, freshen up and visit Gandhi Shikhar, Saputara Tribal Museum, Honey Bee centre and in the evening enjoy the boating in the Lake and Boating Club. After the day's activity, take an overnight stay at the hotel.

Saputara - Dang – Saputara: After an early morning breakfast, proceed for Dang and in the middle, enjoy some local routine activities including the milking cattle, breaking shell of the paddy by traditional way, making floor using chakki (a pair of cylindrical stone), dung flooring, bamboo art work, chopping wood, etc. Also enjoy time, checking the best practices followed by the people for hunting and once done exploring the places, take an overnight stay at the hotel.

Saputara – Dang – Vadodara: After an early breakfast, proceed for Vadodara via Dang, and once in Dang, you can enjoy a walk to the forest trek where you can find tribes showcasing forest resources used for their living, plantation procedure they follow for conserving the forest, organic farming techniques they use for better living and get a chance to see the wildlife that is so close to the natural habitat. Afternoon, proceed towards Vadodara, which is around 300 km drive and upon arrival enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.

Vadodara - Lothal – Velavadar: Early morning after breakfast proceed for Velavadar, via Lothal. Lothal has been known as one of the prime sites of the Harappan or Indus Valley Civilisation excavated in India. Explore the museum and some of the heritage sites out there and once done, proceed for Velavadar. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel; enjoy the dinner and have an overnight stay at the hotel.

Gir National Forest

Velavadar - Gir Forest: After an early morning breakfast, proceed for Velavadar National Park which is known for blackbuck safari, and has the largest population of blackbuck in India. One can also find other endangered species including the grey wolf, the nocturnal striped hyena, Indian fox, golden jackal, jungle cat and many small mammals like hare, gerbil, field mice, mongoose and hedgehog. After enjoying the great safari, depart for Sasan Gir, which is around 235 km of driving and upon arrival, check in to the hotel, fresh en up and enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.

Gir Forest: Early morning after breakfast proceed for another exciting safari, the Lion safari in Gir National Park & Wildlife Sanctuary. The place is famous for Asiatic lions and it comprises of 1412 sq km of deciduous forest interspersed with semi-evergreen and evergreen flora, acacia, scrub jungle, grasslands and rocky hills. Also surrounded by perennial and seasonal rivers and streams, one can even find large numbers of water bodies including the crocodiles. Other than these, the sanctuary is full of birds and reptiles. In the evening, return to the resort enjoy some free time watching the birds in the resort and have a peaceful stay at the resort.

Sasan Gir – Jamnagar: Early morning after breakfast proceed towards Jamnagar, on arrival check in to the hotel and after lunch depart for the Khijadiya bird sanctuary where you can find storks, ducks, and many migratory birds till sunset. In the evening, return to the hotel and enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel in Jamnagar.

Jamnagar: Early morning after breakfast, visit some external areas to find greater and lesser flamingos. After an early lunch, enjoy a ride across the beach and witness the sting ray, crabs, octopus, puffer's sea anemones and dolphins if you are lucky. Later in the evening, transfer to the hotel and enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.

Jamnagar – Nakhatrana: Early morning after breakfast proceed for Nakhatrana and on arrival by lunch time, take some rest and after lunch proceed for Nakhatrana wild life sanctuary in Kutch. Here you would be amazed to find the wide collection of beach, desert, hills and grass land and a lot more of varieties. You can find stripped hyenas, desert fox, porcupines, Indian civet, Indian pangolin and variety of reptiles including the venomous and non venomous reptiles and monitor lizard and star tortoise. If you are lucky, you can also find the Chinkaras. In the evening, move towards the resort/hotel and enjoy an overnight stay there.

Nakhatrana: Early morning at around 6 am before breakfast visit Nalia to witness some of the unique collection of birds including the sangrouse, francolin , quails, larks, shrikes, coursers, plovers, great Indian bustard and many more. One can also find flocks of Indian gazelle and wolfs spotting the entire landscape, while a drive around the sanctuary will acquaint you to the friendly nilgaris. After exploring the extensive flash of various mammals and reptiles, proceed towards the hotel/resort to have your breakfast and for the rest for the day explore the nearby areas and have an overnight stay in Nakhatrana.

Rann of Kutch

Nakhatrana – Dhordo: Early morning after breakfast proceed towards Dhordo, and on arrival, check in to the resort/hotel, take some rest and after lunch visit the white desert, Banni Region - which amidst the Desert land of infinite dimensions, are suspended, quaint little villages. These villages are situated on the boundary line of India-Pakistan border. In this place, one can find the creativity of the people in designing their traditional art, including the ornaments, clothes, utensils, etc., everything they use for their daily use and for occasions. The place more or less looks like a lifestyle museum. One can visit to Khatrivas to see artisans printing & selling Ajrakh. The town also has skilled leather craftsmen and there are some shops retailing local crafts, including leather slippers. Once done exploring the places, return to the hotel/resort for an overnight stay in Dhordo.

Dhordo: After an early breakfast, depart for Kaladungar (Black Hills). Kaladungar also known as the Black Hills, overlooks the spectacular Rann, the view from the top is a sight that one can never forget. Here you can find some of the rare species of white foxes and few enchanted species and frisky animals staying in the wild which immediately respond to the call of the temple priest as he beats a steel plate yelling "langa" to suggest that the food is served for them. On way to return, visit some of the popular villages, including Niroona (Rogan Art and Bells), Hodko and Ludiya. To visit these places, permission is needed to be taken from the check post as they are in the boundary line of Pakistan.

Dhordo – Dasada: Early morning after breakfast, proceed towards Dasada via Bhujodi, 8 km southeast of Bhuj. Bhujodi is known for the textile centre of Kutch, with the major portion of the villagers involved in textile handicraft production. Here you can meet weavers, tie-dye artists and block printers, mostly belong to the Vankar community. After the day's activity, depart for Dasada, and on arrival take an overnight stay at the hotel or resort in Dasada.

Dasada: Early morning after breakfast, proceed towards a safari to the Little Rann of Kutch, which is well-known habitat for endangered species including wild ass and nilgai (blue bull). Also, here in the sanctuary you can find other species like Indian wolf, Indian and white-footed desert foxes, golden jackal, striped hyena and smaller mammals like hares, hedgehogs, gerbil and field mice. Once you are done exploring the sanctuary, have some leisure time with your friends and family and an overnight stay in Dasada.

Dasada – Nalsarovar – Ahmadabad: In the morning, get ready for an early check out to proceed towards Nalsarovar bird sanctuary. This sanctuary is said to be one of the largest sanctuaries in India and is mainly inhabited by migratory birds in winter and spring. The sanctuary also attracts a variety of flora and fauna and the migratory bird population includes rosy pelicans, flamingoes, white storks, brahminy ducks and herons. After exploring the area, proceed for Ahmadabad and upon arrival check-in to the hotel and after some recreation; get ready to explore the city. Visit the Sabarmati Ashram/Gandhi Ashram, this place speaks volumes about Mahatma Gandhi as a leader, a mentor and as a person as well. Later proceed towards Adalaj step well, not very far from Gandhi Ashram. A "Step well" is a unique feature of the dried western India. Once done visiting the places, return to the hotel for a lavish traditional meal and an overnight stay in Ahmadabad.
